January is the Month of the Holy Name of Jesus
The Catholic Church dedicates each month of January to the Holy Name of Jesus, and the feast day is January 3rd. The name of Jesus was given to His Mother Mary and His father St. Joseph, a name which means “God saves.” In the Middle Ages in some parts of the world, it was common for Christians to greet each other and exclaim: “Praise be to Jesus Christ!” with the response “For evermore!” or simply “Amen.” In Philippians chapter 2, we hear that the name of Jesus is above all other names, and that in hearing it every knee should bow of those on the earth and in the heavens. Exorcists use the powerful name of Jesus to drive out demons. Keep this name close to you and be sure never to use it improperly in a fit of frustration or anger.
