Hoarding Disorder
Hoarding Disorder
It is estimated that 5 to 14 million people in the USA have hoarding disorder. It is a growing issue and national concern, especially for our senior citizens. See the US Senate report here. Hoarding disorder involves a persistent difficulty in discarding possessions, leading to cluttered living spaces and significant distress or impairment. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in counseling is one approach to treatment, but an evaluation is necessary to determine the best strategy for each individual.
