About Raquel Shaw
Raquel is a part-time counselor with Gratia Plena and offers bilingual services to serve both English and Spanish speaking clients. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree (2019) majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2023) both from the University of Houston Main campus. She has worked in the helping profession since 2005 performing administrative and management responsibilities and has entered the clinical arena currently providing individual, group, and substance abuse counseling services with adolescents and families involved in the juvenile justice system. Ms. Shaw’s theoretical counseling approach is informed by an Existential-Humanistic model. She believes therapy is an opportunity for self-introspection aimed at helping individuals find meaning in their lives while bridging self-discovery with one’s faith. She is married with two adult children and was raised in a large Catholic family.
