About Laralissa Montealegre

Laralissa Montealegre was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Honduras before moving to the United States in 2021. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Baylor University, where she worked as a research assistant in a psychology lab and obtained multiple certifications related to mental health and research. Laralissa is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of St. Thomas with the goal of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Laralissa grew up Catholic, but deepened her relationship with God during college. Since moving to Houston in 2025, she regularly attends St. Laurence Catholic Parish. She is passionate about working with people from all walks of life and hopes to provide compassionate, faith-centered care through counseling.

Why I want to work with Gratia Plena:
I admire Gratia Plena’s mission of integrating faith and mental health. I believe healing involves both emotional and spiritual growth, and I would love the opportunity to learn and serve in an environment rooted in compassion, faith, and evidence-based care.
