A First in the Nation: The App Store Accountability Act

The most dangerous app for children is the one that parents don’t know they have. Just recently, the state legislature in Utah passed this cutting-edge law which now requires app stores, such as the Apple App Store and the Google Play store, to verify the age of users before allowing them to download age-restricted apps. It also requires parental consent for minors before allowing in-app purchases and requires app stores to have accurate age ratings to inform parents about the dangers on an app. Learn more here. Ask your state legislators to pass this law in your state.
